Traveler's Checklist & Visitor Regulations
For your personal safety and the preservation of the ancient ecosystem of Batu Cermin Cave, please understand and follow all rules below before your visit.
1. Personal Safety Regulations
Helmet Required
Visitors must wear the protective head helmets provided by the management.
Wear Proper Footwear
Wearing high heels or slippery shoes is strictly prohibited. Wearing sports shoes or mountain sandals is highly recommended as the path inside the cave can be damp, rocky, and slippery.
Use Flashlights
As the inside of the cave has minimal light, every group or individual must bring a flashlight (available for rent or borrow from the guide).
2. Nature Conservation Rules Very Important
Do Not Touch Cave Walls
Visitors are strictly prohibited from touching the stone walls, stalactites, or stalagmites. Natural oils and dirt from human hands can clog the rock pores and stop their growth process, as these rocks are considered still "alive".
Do Not Take Anything
It is forbidden to take fossils, rock fragments, or any flora and fauna from within the cave conservation area.
Keep the Environment Clean
Littering of any kind inside the cave or along the bamboo forest path is strictly prohibited. Please bring back all your personal trash.
3. Operational & Ethical Guidelines
Queue System (Limited Capacity)
To maintain oxygen circulation and room to move, the number of visitors inside the cave is limited (around 10 people per group) with a maximum visit duration of 30 minutes.
Do Not Make Noise
Visitors are requested to maintain peace and not shout or speak loudly. Noise can disturb the endemic wildlife ecosystem (such as bats and birds) and disrupt the comfort of other visitors.
Must Be Accompanied by a Guide
It is highly recommended (and in some cave corridors mandatory) to use the services of a local guide for your safety and navigation.
